Application for Educational Session Presentation

“Take me back to Tulsa…”

Though we have not quite shaken the snow off our boots from a GREAT conference in Winnipeg (OK, so there was no snow!), it is time to start preparing for CAPPA 2020. And that means it’s time to start working on our educational program for the conference next fall in Tulsa, OK.

So on behalf of the Central Association of Physical Plant Administrators, “CAPPA”, it is a pleasure to invite you to submit your presentation abstract for consideration to present at the 2020 CAPPA Annual Conference at the Renaissance Tulsa Hotel and Convention Center. Hosted by Oklahoma State University, this year’s annual meeting promises to be one of the largest CAPPA meetings in recent memory, so be sure you play an active part.

The process starts by completing an Educational Presentation Application. Please complete all requested information and follow instructions at the end to submit. Notification of the final selections will be e-mailed by the end of February 2020.

Take advantage of this opportunity to tell your story and share your experiences and expertise. Some of the factors that will be used in the evaluation are:

Originality: is it a new topic?

Best Practices: can I take it back to my campus?

Audience Draw: does it have universal appeal?

Coffee Talk: Will it foster further discussion?

Real World Results (good or bad)

Applicability: large and small campuses

Relevant: addresses current issues

Build Community: does it foster relationships?

Conference Registration is Required to Present: Please be aware that any presenter selected, whether Higher Education or Business Partner, will need to pay full registration fee for the conference. A big part of the educational process is not only the specific presentation, but also the interaction with peers and colleagues outside of the classroom. CAPPA wants not just a presentation but participation!

Direct any urgent questions or issues through a call or email to CAPPA’s Professional Development Co-Chairs. All other questions about the CAPPA conference, such as how to register or participate as a Business Partner, should be directed to the appropriate chairperson listed on the CAPPA website. Regardless, we are glad to assist with a referral in the event you cannot find the contact that seems appropriate.
